Myrtle Beach is a popular beach city that is on the coast of South Carolina. It is a well-known tourist destination in the United States, particularly east of the Mississippi River. The population is about 35,000 people. It is located in the center of a long 60-mile stretch of beach known as "The Grand Strand." The Myrtle Beach metro area is the second-fastest-growing metro area in the United States. Top tourist attractions in Myrtle Beach include the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, the SkyWheel, WonderWorks, multiple "Ripley's Believe it or Not" museums, the Bowery & Duffy's at the Bowery, Family Kingdom Amusement Park, and several ocean-related excursions that include diving, snorkeling, parasailing, fishing, etc.
