Heritage Travel Campaign-Part 13 (Washington, D.C.)
Part 13 of my "Heritage" travel campaign. https://www.lonelyplanet.com/usa/washington-dc
I was able to visit my nation's capital, Washington, D.C., for the second time in my life. Washington, D.C. was named after the first President of the United States and Revolutionary War hero, George Washington.
Washington, D.C. is home to many powerful people, including notable politicians and corporate executives. The government policies, including foreign diplomacy, along with the corporate entities who influence these policies, in many ways dictate world order and global economics.
The International Monetary Fund, the global governing fiscal organization, is headquartered in Washington, D.C.
All around Washington, D.C., there are buildings, museums, monuments, memorials, and signs that all commemorate the people, the power, and the ideology that has helped to shape the United States into the commanding world powerhouse that it is today, with respect to economics, military, and diplomacy.
Top tourist attractions in Washington, D.C. include the White House, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, National Mall, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, World War II Memorial, National Museum of African American History and Culture, Jefferson Memorial, National Museum of American History, United States Capitol, and much much more. #HeritageTravelCampaign #WashingtonDC
