Heritage Travel Campaign-Part 10 (Lexington, Virginia)

Part 10 of my "Heritage" travel campaign.

I visited Lexington, Virginia, a place with a great deal of history. https://lexingtonvirginia.com/

I stopped by the Stonewall Jackson House, where General T.J. "Stonewall" Jackson lived from 1858 to 1861 with his second wife, while teaching at the Virginia Military Institute. He taugt at VMI from 1851 to 1861. https://www.vmi.edu/museums-and-ar…/s...

I then went down the street to the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Cemetery, where Jackson and much of his family are buried.

Then I checked out Washington & Lee University and the Virginia Military Institute. Lee Chapel, where Robert E. Lee and much of his family are buried, is located on the campus of Washington & Lee. There is also a museum downstairs in Lee Chapel. https://www.wlu.edu/lee-chapel-and-mu...

The Jackson Memorial Hall at VMI, displays artifacts from Jackson's life, including the raincoat that he was wearing when he was accidentally fatally shot by Confederate pickets at the Battle of Chancellorsville. https://www.vmi.edu/museums-and-archi...
